Why Should You Vote for Me?

Below is a list of aspirational goals I hope to work toward in my first year as Fox Point Village President. Achieving these priorities will require thoughtful discussion, partnership, and shared commitment. Most will involve collaboration and approval from the full seven-member Village Board, as well as the expertise and execution of the Village Manager and staff. I look forward to working together to move these initiatives forward in a way that reflects our community’s values and goals.

1

Clear, Accessible Communication

Share Village updates through multiple channels—social media, e-newsletters, and a more user-friendly website—so residents can stay informed in the ways that work best for them.

2

Effective Use of
Boards, Commissions
& Committees

Review boards, committees & commissions to reduce overlap and improve efficiency.  Utilize all boards, committees & commissions more - they are filled with Fox Pointers who have valuable skills & knowledge to share. Create a clear, transparent application/nomination process to allow for broader resident participation.

3

Responsible Budgeting

As we approach a possible recession, the Village Board must take fiscal oversight seriously by identifying savings and minimizing tax increases. One opportunity I raised three years ago is switching to curbside garbage/recycling pickup, which could save the village $300,000–$500,000 or more per year. Of the surrounding communities I surveyed, Fox Point and River Hills are the only ones still offering exclusively drive-up pickup. The others have transitioned to curbside while still accommodating residents who need (or want) drive-up service — and I believe Fox Point should do the same. Beyond the significant cost savings, this change would free up DPW workers to tackle projects that have been deferred for years.

With the levy limit caps and limited development opportunities, the Village Board, with the help of the new Village Manager, will need to think “outside the box” in looking for creating budgeting solutions.

4

Strong Staffing

Working with the new Village Manager, request that the Village Board engage an independent consultant to evaluate staffing levels and salaries, identify gaps, and establish a clear performance review process that supports effective budgeting and staff retention.

5

Stronger

Community

Engagement

Actively seek resident input on major projects and policy decisions affecting Fox Point.

6

Community

Partnerships

Strengthen relationships with and provide support for local organizations such as the Fox Point Foundation, LX Club, Fox Point Artists, Friendship Circle, Fox Point Garden Club, the Fox Point Farmers Market.

7

Marketing

Fox Point

Attract new residents & businesses, support our small businesses, cultivate civic pride, make it easier to attract talent when hiring.

8
